History of Pacific Industrial


Pacific Industrial was part of the City of Winnipeg when it amalgamated with surrounding municipalities to from the City of Winnipeg which came into legal existence on January 1, 1972.

The Pacific Industrial area developed in the 1920s and 1930s as an expansion of the industrial/manufacturing/warehouse district that had grown along the Canadian Pacific Railway's Weston Shops and yards. It continues to fill this role today.
