History of Murray Industrial Park

Murray Industrial Park was part of the City of St. James when it became part of the City of Winnipeg which came into legal existence on January 1, 1972.

The Industrial Park was created in the early 1980s as a manufacturing and distribution centre with close geographic ties to the airport, highways and railway facilities. Boeing Canada, Sperry Univac Defense Systmes and MacDon Industries (farm equipment) were some of the original occupants. Offices for various firms, including the Government of Manitoba, are located in the area's east side along Saulteaux Crescent.
