Heritage Resources

Minnetonka was part of the City of St. Vital when it became part of the City of Winnipeg which came into legal existence on January 1, 1972.

This neighbourhood includes the Riel House, national historic site, as well as St. Amant Centre, an important health institution that has been a part of the neighbourhood for over 70 years. The housing stock dates from the post-World War II era, although there are a handful of houses that pre-date 1945. River Pointe, located north of St. Amant Centre in the southwest corner of the neighbourhood, was developed in the early 2000s.
