History of Holden

Holden was part of the City of St. Boniface when it became part of the City of Winnipeg which came into legal existence on January 1, 1972.

The old Greater Winnipeg Water District railway right-of-way diagonally cuts through the neighbourhood of Holden. Its blocks are filled with modest, single-family homes, most of which date to the post-World War II era, although there are some pre-World War I houses that date to the early development of the area.
